Westlake Risk & Insurance Services, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of Joe Gordon to the firm. Gordon joins the Employee Benefits Division of Westlake Risk and assumes the role of Vice President of Benefits. “We are extremely excited to welcome Joe to our team. He has a wealth of experience in the insurance industry and will be an amazing asset to our firm,” said Steve Stanfield, president of Westlake Risk & Insurance Services, Inc.
Prior to joining Westlake Risk, Gordon worked for Northwestern Mutual and its affiliate Northwestern Group, Inc. Strategic Employee Benefit Services for the last six years; where his emphasis was on working with companies to implement and service employee benefits. Additionally, Gordon worked with business owners, individuals and families creating personal lines of coverage to ensure the protection of their financial futures.
Gordon’s career in the insurance industry began after a successful career in real estate. For eight years Gordon and his father were partners at Coldwell Banker and Rodeo Realty in Westlake Village. Together, for multiple years, the two were ranked in the top 1% of realtors in the country for sales.
Away from the office, Gordon serves as a baseball coach at California State University Los Angeles, where he has been the infield and hitting coach for the past six seasons. And, he also served as the head baseball coach at Simi Valley High School, as well as a mathematics teacher for six years.
Gordon holds a master’s degree from California Lutheran University, and a degree in mathematics education from George Fox University, Oregon. He attended the University of California Los Angeles as well. Gordon resides in Moorpark, CA with his wife Julie, daughter Pressley and sons Gunner and Bronx.
